On rounds this morning, I was informed that Lia's left lung has lost 25-30% of its capacity due to her paralyzed diaphragm. We have upped her lasix and breathing treatments in order to help keep her lungs open as much as they can be. She is breathing very fast, and that is concerning. We are going to monitor her over the next couple of days and then the doctors will make a decision as to whether or not she can continue on like this, or if she will need to have the surgery to tack her diaphragm down to give her lung some more room.
So, we're just sitting here, watching and waiting, and wishing for the best! Keep the prayers coming!
We had more visitors today. A few Linwood ladies came up to KC for the weekend and decided to come and visit Lia! Thanks girls!
