Lia has eaten SO good today! She took 63 MLs during one of her feedings!! They upped each feeding to 70 MLs, so she almost had her whole feeding orally! Whatever she doesn't finish, they put in her tube. I am so proud of her! She takes a minute to get used to the bottle, but once she gets a good latch, you would've never known she was on a ventilator for over two weeks! Yay Lia! Yay to OT for helping us with that! I am doing two skimmed breastmilk feedings to 1 enfaport feeding. As long as her chest x-rays remain clear (no chylus) we will eventually go to all skimmed milk.
I am also happy to announce that Lia no longer has her head IV (or as we have dubbed it, 'the antler')! It wasn't flushing correctly last night, and since she is no longer on any IV meds, they decided to just take it out! We are keeping our fingers crossed that she won't need another IV. Her poor arms, hands, neck, feet, and now head, look like a pin cushion and are really bruised!
As long as Lia's breathing slows down (which it has), and she keeps these good feedings up, we MIGHT get to come home next week! I'm not getting my hopes up, but would love love love to go home. I miss Jack so much!!

No more antler sticking out of my head! Don't you just love those eyes?

Can you guess whats so special about this picture? Ryan is holding Lia...by the door...Lia's chords don't reach to the door. NO CHORDS!! She was completely off monitors today and it was awesome! We walked all around the room with her wherever we wanted! She also spent some time out at the nurses station because the nurses love her.

Got this pic today from my father in law. Jack looks like he's having a great time at Grandma and Grandpa's in Fairbank!

Jack and Grandpa planted a tree just for Jack! How special! We will always remember that tree for the time he lived with Grandma and Grandpa while Mommy and Daddy were 'fixing Lia's heart'.
