I received a notice in the mail a couple of weeks ago for my first ever jury duty! I was both nervous and excited (weird, I know....). Everyone complains about having to do jury duty, and even though I was complaining about it too, a part of me thought it might be kind of cool? Anyway, I called today and was dismissed through tomorrow, but have to call back again tomorrow to see if they need me for Wed. I have a feeling I won't have to do anything, but you never know. If anything cool happens, and is worth blogging about, I will let you know.
Anyway, moving on...where has August gone?? I cannot believe that tomorrow is September already! The weather here has been BEAUTIFUL. In the mid to upper 70s all day with no humidity! We have lots to look forward to this month: A visit this coming weekend from my parents, going home to IA for 2 baby showers, the birth of Brooke and Adam's baby, my dads birthday, football starting, and of course, September means that we are one month closer to meeting Jack Ryan Shields!
Ryan and I went and registered for baby items last weekend, and all I have to say is, I'M GLAD IT'S OVER! We only went to Target, and I was completely overwhelmed! I went equipped with a list and a good attitude, and left with anxiety and sore feet. Who would've thought the 4 aisles of baby stuff that Target has could be so overwhelming. There are so many different types of the exact same item to choose from! Thank goodness for my positive husband, who lately, seems to be capable of getting me through any mood I may be feeling. I couldn't have done it without him!
My mom has been so good to me when it comes to sending packages and goodies down here to Wichita. Ryan and I can always count on a package on holidays, before school started she sent me some dressier maternity clothes that I can wear for parent/teacher conferences, and most recently, we got a package with Jack's first Easter outfit! I can't wait for spring to get here so he can wear it! I'm attaching a pic so you can enjoy it too...
Jack is really starting to develop quite the wardrobe! Between packages from my mom, Katy's mom (one of my second moms), and things I've purchased myself, hes taking up more and more room in the nurserys closet!

Come back soon for pics from my parents visit this coming weekend! We are excited to see them! Take care!!
