I have so much to update you on! First of all, my sweet Jack is now wearing glasses! We got them the end of October. He is doing a very good job keeping them on so far! He has adjusted to them really well. He picked out a bright red pair (we're talking Elton John red....) to which we compromised with a dark gray pair that has bright orange on the INSIDE :) He looks really cute in them.
Also, in the last weeks of October, we found out that Ryan got a job! He got hired at John Deere in Ankeny! We are so very excited for him to start working! However, we just found out today, when he went in to start some paperwork that he won't be starting for another 4-6 weeks. So technically, he is employed, but not until about the middle of December. God has a plan for everything...maybe there is a reason he needs to stay home with the kids a while longer. It's not my job to understand, just my job to pray about it!
We had a wonderful Halloween! Lia was a ghost (seriously, the cutest one ever!!) and Jack was a Lego! His costume was 100% made by Daddy! Way to go, Ryan! Lia stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa to help them hand out candy, while Ryan and I took Jack trick-or-treating. He made it about half way up the block (which, in his defense is a really long block) and then back down, and he was done. He helped Grandpa hand out candy the rest of the night.
We spent the weekend in Harlan with Brent, Morgan and Brynn this past weekend. We had lots of fun! Brynn and Lia had lots of fun playing together! Ashley and Morgan had lots of fun drinking wine and shopping, Ryan and Brent had lots of fun watching football (except for that horrible Hawkeye loss.....) and Jack....well, poor Jack mostly entertained himself with the farm cats, his iPod, and Aunt Morgan's endless supply of Halloween candy! Poor guy, needs some more cousins his age!
This weekend I am headed to Kansas City to meet up with some of my girlfriends from Wichita! We are staying downtown, and are going to have a blast! I've been looking forward to this 'girls getaway' for a long time!
While I'm in KC, Ryan, Jack and Lia are headed to Cedar Falls to watch Wapsie Valley (Ryan's alma mater) play in the high school football semi-finals in the UNI-Dome! It will be Jack's first time in the Dome. I hope it influences him to follow in Mommy's footsteps and go to UNI :) I know...he's 2, but still, a Mom can hope!
Enjoy the pictures!

| Hanging out at Aunt Morgans! I believe we were Skyping with Grandma Sue when this pic was taken! For being only 6 weeks apart, and first cousins, they sure don't look much alike! I think Lia's hair makes her look WAY older than 7 months! |

| Grandpa Maury was in Des Moines for an evening a couple weeks ago, so we got to meet up with him for dinner! Jack looooves his Grandpa Maury! |
