Hard to believe the last week of October is upon us. I realized I never gave you all and update after Lia's knee injections. You may recall from my last post that the injections had been cancelled. Well, two days later, they were back on...yeah--long story--. Things went really well in St. Paul. They injected both of her knees, and everyone is pleased with the results so far. We can all agree that the pain is practically 100% gone. She hops and bops around here like nobody's business! The swelling is starting to go down too, we are starting to see a few wrinkles in her left knee. They drained a tsp of fluid off her right knee, and weren't able to get much fluid off the left (the really bad one...) due to the amount of inflamed tissue. We follow up the first part of December back in Minnesota. We are feeling optimistic with the injections!
Aside from traveling to MN and doctor's appointments, we have had a busy October! We made a trip to the pumpkin patch, mourned and rejoiced as my great grammy went on to her eternal home, and traveled home to Fairbank to spend a fun-filled fall day with Ryan's family.
We enjoyed getting to spend a night with Uncle Spencer before we traveled to Fairbank, because he flew into the Des Moines airport. He is back in Iowa for a few weeks before he deploys to Jordan next month. We are also in the beginning stages of planning Jack's 5th birthday! Yikes! Such a busy fall! Before we know it, Christmas will be here!!
Enjoy the pics.

| Lia couldn't eat after 4 am the day of her appt. Althogh she asked for food a couple of times, we tried our best to keep her occupied. Thanks to an awesome care package from Aunt Morgan and Uncle Brent, we had lots of stuff her keep her busy. |
 |
The wonderful nurses at Gillette took such good care of her (and us).
We were reminded how sad it can be in a children't hospital. This time, though, we were the family coming and going all in the same day. It was a nice change. |

| Lia in recovery. She was so brave! She even got the 'cutest patient' award for the day. They all loved her. |

| Getting ready to go home was a different story--Miss Grumpy Pants was tired and done. I don't blame her. She slept almost all the way home. (4 hours) |

| My niece, Chandler, turned 1 this month! We traveled to Harlan to celebrate her birthday. |

| So thankful to be spending some time with Uncle Spencer. We have more visits planned while he's still in Iowa. |

| Jack loved the leaves. We literally had to drag him out when it was time to go. |
