It's Sunday night. This much anticipated weekend is over, and I'm exhausted! Our first annual, Team Lia Heart Walk is in the books, and it was a good one! It started out a bit rocky (major t-shirt drama), but in the end, everything went really well! The rain held off until the walk was over, we had a great turn out, and a lot of money was raised to fund research on heart disease!
I am so very grateful to the family and friends who came from near and far to support Lia, and us, in this event. It is something that really meant a lot to Ryan and I, and we are thankful for all the love and support you've shown us ever since our battles with Lia's heart condition began. This weekend was a humble reminder to me of how very fortunate and blessed I am to have that little girl in my life. She is such an inspiration to me, and others, and Saturday was all about HER.

| What happens when you're in Altoona, and you have diarrhea and your mom didn't bring any diapers? Well, you break out the feminine pads, of course! Yes folks, this really happened. My dear friend Amy had to make Lia a diaper out of masking tape and pads. Yep. Pads. This thing was rock solid. It got us all the way home back to Norwalk. After wiping her with makeup remover pads, (yes, your are reading this correctly) we concocted this little number. I was quite impressed with Amy's taping skills. Ryan had to cut her out of it when we got home, but hey, it held everything in! THANKS AMY!! |
