Wichita Public Schools passed a HUGE bond issue a couple of years ago, and because of it, Linwood (where I teach) is getting EIGHT new classrooms, a bigger parking lot, and a brand new multi-purpose room! Construction is well underway. Although now I am working in a contruction zone, and having to talk over the sound heavy machinery all day, I know it will be well worth it in the end, as we are very over crowded! This year, we had to give up our music room and teachers lounge for classrooms, and our wonderful intervention teacher (love you Stacey) has been shoved into a closet!
This is the view out my classroom window. This is the drop off lane. There didn't used to be any parking here, and now we have about 20 new parking spots! It's wonderful! (Yes, Molly and I drive the exact same car...) Our main parking lot also has been expanded and is functioning so much better!
This is the view out the door that I USED to come in. You can see the hallway and classrooms are taking shape! (For those of you know know the building well, this hallway will connect the 1st and 2nd grade hallway to the 3rd grade hallway)
The floors for the new classrooms are poured and as you can see they are starting on the walls!
In other news:
-My mom and sister are coming to spend the weekend with us!!!! I am so excited! On the agenda: Pedicures and shopping, and lots of time with Jack :)
-Jack sat up on his own for 20 seconds this morning!
-Ear infection is all cleared up, and Jack is back to his old self!
-Ryan graduates in 3 weeks!
-Last day of school for me: May 26 (countdown is ON)
